Christina Zimpel grew up in Perth, Western Australia. She currently resides in New York and works from her studio in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Alongside her personal practice, Zimpel has collaborated with fashion, beauty, and hospitality clients—such as Carlyle & Co. Hong Kong, the Rosewood Hotel Group, Nina Ricci and Maison Kitsune—on interior projects, murals, sculptural objects, capsule collections, and set design. She previously worked as an art director for Australian and U.S. Vogue, and has contributed illustrations to the New York Times, Vanity Fair and Architectural Digest..
