In 1998, David Downton made his first celebrity portrait, of the super modeal Marie Helvin. So pleased was Helvin with the result that she opened her address book and suggested her friends also sit for him. DD made this portrait of Iman in line and cut paper as a nod to the master of the genre, Andy Warhol. Nineteen years later it gives FIG great pleasure to publish a limited edition facsimile copy of the aforementioned art work and present, Iman 1999, a brand new FIG Print.
